Print barcode labels
Give products and variations barcodes, print labels in four sizes, and scan them in Point of Sale and Point of Purchase.
The Barcodes page prints barcode labels for your products and variations. Stick them on your stock, then scan them at the counter in Point of Sale or Point of Purchase instead of searching by hand.
Before you start
- You need the permission View products to search and print labels.
- Generating or assigning barcodes, and saving the store's default label template, needs Add & edit products.
- A label printer, or a normal printer with A4 label sheets.

Label templates
| Template | What the label shows |
|---|---|
| Standard 50 x 25 mm | Name and barcode |
| Price tag 40 x 30 mm | Name, price and barcode |
| A4 sheet 3 x 10 | Name, price and barcode, laid out on full A4 pages |
| Compact 30 x 15 mm | Barcode only |
- For a variation, the name also shows its options.
- The price is the offer price when it is lower than the regular price, otherwise the regular price.
- The template you pick is saved for the whole store (if you have Add & edit products), so it is ready next time.
Barcodes: generated, your own, or the SKU
- Generate missing codes gives every row without a barcode a new 13-digit in-store code. Rows that already have one keep it.
- Assign code lets you type a code yourself, for example the barcode already printed on the maker's packaging. Use 4–40 letters, digits and symbols, with no spaces.
- Each barcode can belong to only one product or variation in your store. If it is taken, you see "This barcode is already assigned to another product or variant."
- A row with no barcode prints its SKU as the barcode instead. It still scans, because scanning also matches SKUs.
Scanning labels
- In Point of Sale, scan into the bar that says Search products or scan a barcode… (press F2 to jump to it). You can also type the code and press Enter.
- In Point of Purchase (if your plan includes vendors and purchase orders), scan into Search what you are buying, or scan… the same way.
- StoreLine looks the code up as a barcode first, then as an exact SKU. A variation's code adds that exact variation. A product with options opens its option picker.
- If nothing matches a long number, you see "No product has the barcode …".

A valid 13-digit EAN code is printed as EAN-13. Everything else is printed as Code 128.
These buttons need the permission Add & edit products. Without it you can still search and print.
Yes. Add it to the print list and click Assign code to enter a new one. Labels you printed with the old code won't scan as this product any more, so reprint them.
