Point of Sale basics
Sell at the counter with POS: add items, take split payments, hold tickets and print receipts.
Point of Sale (POS) is StoreLine's counter screen for shops. Use it to sell in person, or to take a delivery order at the counter. Each sale is saved as an order and the stock is deducted straight away.
Before you start
- You need the permission Point of Sale. Managers have it by default; Staff don't.

Walk-in vs delivery sales
- Walk-in sales must be paid in full and are marked Delivered straight away.
- Delivery sales need the customer's phone number and the delivery address. You can take part of the total as advance; the rest is collected on delivery. The sale is added to Orders as a new order, so you ship it from there.
Tips and common mistakes
- Only cash can be more than the total. Card, wallet and bank payments can't go over what is due.
- Hold a ticket to serve the next customer. Click Hold ticket (F4), then use Resume under Held tickets to bring it back.
- The ticket is saved in this browser. Refreshing the page won't lose it.
- If your browser blocks pop-ups, the receipt can't print. Allow pop-ups for your dashboard.
- If a sale was saved but its payment wasn't, StoreLine shows a Retry button. Retrying never charges the sale twice.
