Add staff and set their access
Create logins for your team, pick a role, and choose exactly what each person can do.
Updated 2 min read7 steps
Give each person on your team their own StoreLine login, and choose exactly what they can see and do. You create the account yourself; StoreLine doesn't send an invitation email.
Before you start
- You need the permission Manage team. Store Owners and Admins have it.
- Your plan sets how many team members you can add. The Users page shows how many you've used.
- Use an email address that isn't already used for any StoreLine account.

Roles
- Owner: the account the store was created for. Ownership can't be given to someone else.
- Admin: everything except ownership and managing other admins. Only the Owner can make someone an Admin.
- Manager: runs daily operations. By default, Managers can handle orders (including prices, cancelling and export), POS, products, stock and purchasing.
- Staff: only what you turn on. By default, Staff can view, create and edit orders, change order status, process web orders, manage customers and view products.
Owners and Admins can see Subscription and Domains; these can't be given as permissions.
Change access or remove someone
- Edit access: change the role or permissions, then Save changes.
- Reset password: makes a new temporary password. The old one stops working immediately.
- Disable user: the person can no longer sign in. You can enable them again any time. Do this when someone leaves.
Tips and common mistakes
- When you turn on a permission, the permissions it depends on turn on too (for example, Edit orders also turns on View orders).
- A warning icon marks permissions that give access to money, credentials or team management. Give these carefully.
- You can only give permissions you have yourself, and you can't change your own role.
- When someone opens a page they can't use, they see "You don't have access" with the name of the permission to ask for.
