Add or remove stock with Stock Adjustment
Add or remove stock with a reason, count your shelf, undo a change, and read Stock Levels and Stock Tracker.
Stock Adjustment is where you change stock by hand: add new stock, remove damaged or lost items, or set the numbers from a shelf count. Every change is saved with a reason and a number, so you can always see who changed what.
Before you start
- Seeing stock needs View products. Changing it needs Adjust stock. Without it, you only see the History tab.
- Your store keeps one stock count for each product, or for each variation of a product with variations.
- New products start with 0 stock. Add their first stock here.
What changes stock
- Orders take stock out when they are created or confirmed, and put it back when cancelled or returned.
- Purchase orders add stock when you receive the goods, if your plan includes vendors and purchase orders.
- Stock Adjustment covers everything else.

If you change stock for more than 20 items, or an item differs by more than half, StoreLine asks you to confirm first. If stock changed while you were counting (for example, an order came in), you see Stock changed while you were counting. Click Review to check, or Save anyway to use your counted numbers.
History and reversing
The History tab lists every adjustment and count, with its number, reason, who made it and when. Filter by type, direction (in / out), reason or date, and click a row to see its lines.
To undo an adjustment, open it and click Reverse…. The Adjust tab fills in the opposite changes with the reason Correction. Check them and click Save adjustment. Counts can't be reversed this way; make a new adjustment instead.
Stock Levels and Stock Tracker
- Inventory → Stock Tools → Stock Levels shows what you have now: totals for Products, Units in stock, Low stock, Out of stock and Backorder, and a list you can filter by these. Low stock means at or below the product's low-stock alert level. Backorder means stock is below 0 (oversold). From a row's menu you can Adjust stock or open the Stock tracker.
- Inventory → Stock Tools → Stock Tracker shows where one product's stock went. Search a product or SKU and pick a date range. It shows Sold, Returned, Received, Adjustments (net) and On hand now, then every movement with its running balance. Use the Orders, Purchases and Adjustments tabs to narrow the list.
